An Evening of Jazz Fundraiser at Rebekah’s House
Rebekah’s House hosted their annual fundraising event, An Evening of Jazz, to help benefit the non-profit organization.
Rebekah’s House is a non-profit shelter for homeless families and helps them get back on their feet. Tonight’s event featured saxophonist Jordan Chalden with food, raffles, and a silent auction.
Board members tell News 25 its events like these that several families have benefitted from Rebekah’s House and have been able to land jobs to help support their family. Fundraising Committee chairman Nick Randazzo said, “The families that’s been through Rebekah’s House have actually gone on and become a self-sustained family. They found jobs, they’re able to get a house, put a roof over their family’s heads, feed their kids and live a safer, happier life.”
Rebekah’s House board member Kearn Cherry said, “Our budget is really small. We don’t have grants and stuff like that so our house is really community based. So, we rely on private funds to help us.”
