Local law enforcement recapture escaped Gulfport inmate

We have an update this afternoon on the inmate who escaped last night, he has been recaptured.

Twenty-seven year-old Christopher D. Epps escaped a work release center on 8^th Avenue in Gulfport. He was recaptured just before midnight, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Gulfport Police Department and Harrison County Sheriff’s Department also assisted in the search.

Epps is serving an 18 year sentence for grand larceny and burglary larceny of unoccupied dwelling in Hinds County.
