Episcopal Church of the Redeemer prepares for annual pumpkin patch
The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer set up its annual pumpkin patch on Saturday morning in Biloxi.
The church and community unloaded over 3,000 pumpkins to be displayed on the church’s front lawn. The patch has been around for 37 years and has become a big part of the community during the fall season, attracting visitors of all ages. Reverend Chris Robinson said, “Every year, we’re here with thousands of pumpkins for the community to come and pick up, walk through, and take pictures and just generally enjoy. We’ve got school kids coming on trips and all sorts of opportunities this October for people to come and enjoy it. The funds we raised from this helps support our youth ministry and outreach ministry in the community. One of the things we do here at the Redeemer is every month is a different outreach charity we pick and we gather goods and things they need to support those in need in our community and these funds go to support the purchasing and supplying of various ministries.”
The pumpkin patch officially opens October 5th. It will be open to visitors throughout the month. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
