Emmett Till’s family holds press conference to demand arrest of Donham

Several family members of Emmett Till made their way to the federal building in Jackson, Mississippi demanding the arrest of Carolyn Bryant Donham.

This presser follows National Civil Rights Activist John C. Barnett’s press conference last week demanding the same justice be served.

A warrant was found two weeks ago by a team of researchers calling for the arrest of Donham, charging her in Till’s kidnapping and murder.

Speakers such as Priscilla Sterling and Andrew Campbell took the stand and spoke about the importance of justice and closure for the family. “I know that over a period of time, 67 years, nothing has been done as far as this warrant. The family wants Carolyn Bryant to face justice, and by facing justice, we want her to at least come and defend herself and not the state of Mississippi or the Federal Government.”

As of today, no move has been made on the warrant.
