Emergency Testing in D’Iberville
If you were in D’Iberville today, you may have heard sirens throughout the city, but luckily it was just a drill.
City leaders tested emergency alarms to prepare in the case of a natural disaster. Officials gathered to talk strategy and make sure equipment and plans were updated from last year.
D’Iberville police urge residents to prepare now instead of in the midst of a storm. Captain Marty Griffin with D’Iberville PD said, “Well, we ask them to start now, just like the city is, to develop their own plans for their own homes and their own families. In the event the alarm does sound, when it’s not a drill, that they too are prepared and know what they’re going to do.”
City leaders and the D’Iberville Police Department meet every year before the hurricane season to test the alarms and review their emergency plans.
