Emergency Closure by CSX for Track Repair in Gulfport

GULFPORT, Miss. — CSX Transportation will conduct an emergency closure on 25th Avenue for critical track maintenance in Gulfport tomorrow, Friday, May 17. The repair work will begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 4 p.m. the same day.

The closure is necessary due to the widening of the track gauge beyond safe operational limits. Southbound lanes will be closed during the repair period to ensure safety. However, the northbound lanes will remain open, allowing traffic to continue flowing in that direction.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) has been notified and will assist in managing traffic during the closure. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow any posted signs and detours.
