Embezzlement Arrest – Ashlee Smith

On March 21, 2018 the Gulfport Police Department arrested 24 year old Ashlee Smith, of  Gulfport, charging her with one count of Embezzlement.

The arrest was the result of a patrol response on March 6, 2018 to a report of Embezzlement at the Sams Club located at 10431 Old Hwy 49. It was reported that Smith had been making fraudulent returns, with fictitious purchases and discarded receipts, from February 16, 2018 to March 4, 2018. The approximate amount of the theft was over $2,000. The incident was investigated by Gulfport Detectives. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Smith.

The warrant was obtained from Harrison County Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray who set bond at $2,500. Smith was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
