Elks Parade and Krewe Unique set to roll in Ocean Springs
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- After a lull for a few weeks when it comes to parades, carnival action returns this weekend on the Coast.
In Ocean Springs, the annual Elks Parade rolls at 1 Saturday afternoon with Krewe Unique rolling right afterwards at 1:30.
It’s a yearly tradition for the two krewes and public work crews are already preparing for the weekend.
Both parades follow a route that starts on Front Beach and ends on Government Street near Holcomb Avenue.
Some traffic notes to keep in mind if you’re heading to the parades or are in that area Saturday. Roads on the route close at noon. Also, southbound access to Washington Avenue at Highway 90 will be restricted from noon to 3 due to the influx of crowds at the parades.
