Matt Haley wins Harrison County Sheriff’s race

Matt Haley pulled ahead late and has won the Harrison County Sheriff’s race over Louis Elias.

The Republican candidates have no opposition for the general election in November, making the winner of this primary the new sheriff — succeeding a retiring Troy Peterson.

With 51 of 51 precincts reporting, only 214 votes separate the candidates.
