Eight members of the Saints organization test positive for COVID-19

As if the New Orleans Saints haven’t been through enough already, still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, Sunday’s week two game at Carolina is now in question.

As first reported by ESPN, eight members of the Saints organization have tested positive for COVID-19, including six offensive coaches, one player, and a nutritionist.

Today, the team placed Michael Thomas on the reserve COVID list although he was already on the PUP list through at least week six.

For now, the entire team is operating under the league’s enhanced mitigation protocols, meaning mandatory masks inside facilities, daily testing, no in-person meetings, and grab and go meals.

During the summer, Head Coach Sean Payton said the team’s coaching and personnel staffs were one hundred percent vaccinated.
