Education Day at MGM Park

Today, hundreds of students from all over South Mississippi had the chance to trade in the classroom for the ball park.
Education Day was in full swing at MGM Park for today’s game ending the Shuckers homestand against the Jackson Generals. Schools from the Coast and even some from as far away as Lamar and Forrest County came to Biloxi to enjoy the game.
Even though they were out of the classroom the learning didn’t stop. Representatives from NASA, the Department of Marine Resources, USM and more were on hand with fun hands on projects for the kids. “We’re hoping they get more than just a baseball game. Baseball is fun and great, but we want them to learn about the different opportunities that they can do with their lives, not just in baseball, but of course with Mississippi State, USM, and all those other opportunities.
Shuckers lost to the Jackson Generals 6-5. This is the first of two Education Days at MGM Park this year. The next one will be Tuesday, May 16th.
