Education bills in the 2026 Legislative Session

There is about a month left in the Mississippi Legislative Session. Going in, education, specifically school choice, was expected to be the big-ticket item.

The House and Senate came up with completely different bills in a very heated debate between the two chambers and it looked like popular teacher pay raises would get lost as a result, but a bit of a bombshell at the capital Friday morning.
