Ed Orgeron considers Myles Brennan perfect fit in Bayou Country
Myles Brennan was heavily recruited out of St. Stanislaus for a lot of reasons and his 18 division I offers are proof of that. LSU was always his first choice, even if the Tigers took more interest in his off the field hobbies than his on the field production.
As a senior, Brennan rewrote the history books in the Mississippi High School football ranks, breaking the all-time records set by fellow Rock-A-Chaw Dylan Favre for most career passing yards and touchdowns.
Additionally, he took home the inaugural Mr. Football Award for class 4A after leading SSC to a regular season record of 9-1.
All that aside, it’s Brennan’s ability to cast a rod that had LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron so excited about his new quarterback earlier this week. “Danny has gone through the spring, he has done a great job in Matt’s offense. He can operate in it very well, but we haven’t seen Myles Brennan. Now I’m going to tell you now, I think Myles Brennan is going to be a championship quarterback. When he’s going to be a championship quarterback, when he’s ready. I can tell you, I knew he was going to be an LSU quarterback before he ever committed. I call Myles, he said Coach I had a great morning. I said well what did you do, Myles? I think he was just telling me about breakfast or something. He said ‘Coach, we caught 20 redfish behind my house.’ I said there’s only one place you can play football, son. That’s LSU, you’re coming.”
Brennan is listed as a four star talent by both ESPN and 247 Sports. He threw 48 touchdowns to just three interceptions as a senior at St. Stanislaus.
