Easter events happening across the coast
Gulf Coast (WXXV)- Easter Weekend kicks off Saturday and the coast is getting in on the fun.
The Mississippi Aquarium is hosting an Easter Egg hunt on their campus tomorrow from 11 AM to 3 PM.
The aquarium is trading in bunny eggs for special penguin eggs – guests can even find one golden penguin egg.
That egg gives the seeker two annual passes.
The Easter Bunny will also be on site to take pictures with guests.
Even a few rabbits will be around, animal care staff introducing the public to bunny ambassadors at 2:30.
The Easter Egg hunt is free with general admission, three age groups taking turns throughout the day.
Over in the City of Waveland, an Easter Parade and Egg Hunt are kicking off at 12:30 Saturday afternoon.
Floats, boats, classic cars and marching bands fill up the parade.
That route starts at Bienville Drive and North Beach Boulevard, ending at the Waveland Town Green.
The fun doesn’t stop there. An egg hunt, petting zoo, Easter Bunny photos, and so much more takes place.
Heading up to Saucier, Green Acres Creamery is hosting an Easter event.
The Easter Bunny will be available for photos with a chance to meet other furry friends.
An Easter Egg hunt for ages 3 to 13 taking place as well, the creamery hinting the true prize eggs are not golden.
Up in Hattiesburg, the zoo is hosting an Eggz-otic egg hunt.
The event runs from 10 AM – 4 PM, tickets for kids are $10 while adult tickets are $12.
250 eggs are hidden across the facility, with guests winning a big prize if they find the golden egg.
The Easter Bunny will be hopping around and the movie Peter Rabbit will play at the Asbury Discovery Center.
Face painting and coloring is also on tap.
Just a heads up, a very special guest will be making his debut as well.
On Easter Day, Mosaic Church invites all to celebrate at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
The event is open to the public, doors open at 9:30 Sunday morning.
Local musicians will perform starting at 9:45 with the service beginning at 10:30.
