East Central’s T.J. Dunsford receives 5A Mr. Baseball trophy
It was a busy day for East Central’s T.J. Dunsford on the morning of South State Game 3, receiving his trophy for winning the inaugural 5A Mr. Baseball Award, courtesy of the Mississippi High School Activities and Association and the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
Prior to Tuesday’s 10-3 win over West Jones, Dunsford was leading the Hornets as both a hitter and pitcher with a .423 batting average and four home runs, to go along with a mound record of 10-1 and a microscopic 1.43 ERA.
His 108 strikeouts across 68.1 innings rank sixth in the entire state.
