East Central senior T.J. Dunsford wins 5A Mr. Baseball
The East Central baseball team is just one win away from punching its return ticket to South State and a big reason why is senior standout T.J. Dunsford.
Today, Dunsford took home the inaugural 5A Mr. Baseball Award, going to the top player in Mississippi.
The Southern Miss signee is more than deserving, leading the Hornets as both a hitter and pitcher with a .405 batting average and four home runs to go along with a mound record of 9-1 and a sparkling 1.57 ERA.
His 97 strikeouts across 62-and-a-third innings rank seventh in the entire state.
Dunsford and company are the reigning 5A state champs.
