East Central Lady Hornets celebrate state championship win at WXXV!

WXXV News 25’s Sports Director Ansley Brent sits down with the 2025 Class 5A Softball State Champions, the East Central Lady Hornets. Brent is joined by Head Coach Gerald Edmonson and his starting nine on the diamond!

After their fifth trip to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the East Central Hornet left the diamond victorious! Seniors Kailee Lawson and Abbie Huff discuss the teams strength and why they believe this team was the one to get it done, while also giving advice to the underclassmen.

The Lady Hornets were the undefeated district camps, winning state in two games, ending the year with an overall record of 30-7! Congratulations to East Central High School, and we thank you for taking the time to celebrate with WXXV!
