East Central baseball wins third State Title
The East Central baseball team won its third state title in program history and it’s first in 14 years.
The Hornets took control early and the 7-3 final score doesn’t do it justice, having led by as many as six runs as they sweep North State champion Neshoba Central in two games.
East Central scoring two runs in the first, three in the fourth, and two more in the seventh just to be safe.
Mississippi State commit Hollis Porter is the MVP of the series and now the gold ball is heading back to Hurley.
Hornets finish with an overall mark of 28-6 with those other titles coming in 2008 and 1981.
