East Biloxi Roads Update

Three inches of flood water left the streets of East Biloxi in a puddle yesterday.
Public Affairs Manager Vincent Creel tells News 25 that workers manned extra water pumps until 10 o’clock last night and then heavy equipment leveled Division Street and adjoining streets at day break this morning. Oscar Renda Contracting crews also finished up some curbing and started installing more curbs.
This project, the largest municipal public works contract in Biloxi history, started in 2014. Expected completion date was set for 2017. Now construction isn’t expected to be complete until June 2018.
As residents continue to complain about the dust that construction brings, MDEQ’s Office of Pollution found that no permit violations have been made.
