Early morning fire in Saucier

One man is safe following an overnight fire in Saucier on Highway 67 near Gartman Road.

According to officials, around 12:30 this morning a man woke up to fire and smoke inside his camper trailer and managed to escape through a window. Officials say he was the only occupant.

The blaze did destroy the trailer. No injuries were reported. The fire also caused damage to a nearby building.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but is under investigation.
