Drunk swimmer rescued in Pascagoula

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- A woman is charged with public intoxication after Pascagoula police and other first responders had to rescue her from the water.

The incident happened near Beach Park Pier after police got reports of a missing swimmer.

Police, along with Pascagoula Fire, DMR officials, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies, located the woman after a short time and brought her to shore.

The identity of the woman has not been released.
