Drug Bust On I-10

A Texas man is behind bars in Jackson County, after deputies discovered nearly eight pounds of cocaine in his truck during traffic stop on I-10. Luis Maldonado was arrested Tuesday morning at the 70 mile marker, after a Jackson County Deputy was unable to read his truck tag. A K-9 unit then alerted officer to the location of the drugs. Sheriff Mike Ezell says officer found three squares wrapped in black plastic with tape. Maldonado is charged with aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance. He is being held on a 30-thousand dollar bond.
