Drowning incident under investigation in Gautier

GAUTIER, Miss. (WXXV)-On Monday, October 20, Gautier police and fire responded to a distress call at a home on Three Oaks Drive after two children were found unresponsive near a swimming pool.

First responders immediately began life-saving efforts. Both children were transported to Ocean Springs Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

The children’s mother, Amber Goldman, was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy that has deeply affected our community,” said Chief of Police David Bever. “Our hearts are with the family, friends, and first responders impacted by this heartbreaking loss. We ask everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as investigators continue to seek answers.”
