Driver, passenger of truck that crashed with bus carrying MGCCC’s Band of Gold identified
All band members and those on the bus are safe

A bus carrying members of MGCCC’s Band of Gold was involved in a deadly two-vehicle accident Thursday evening, as band members were traveling to the football team’s road game against Southwest Mississippi Community College.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M, the accident happened on Highway 98 in Pike County, near the Walthall County line. A Ford Ranger truck traveling north on Pike 93 at the cross-over of US 98 collided with the MGCCC band bus that was traveling west on US 98.
A statement released by MGCCC to WXXV News 25 says that all students aboard the bus are safe and were not injured.
The driver and passenger of the truck that collided with the bus have both died from their injuries. They are identified as 51-year-old Gregory Young of McComb and 46-year-old Brandy Simmons of Magnolia.
