Driver Airlifted after Accident on Kiln Delisle Road

Around 1:30 this afternoon, a single vehicle accident sent a car flying off a bridge and to the bottom of a steep embankment.
Traffic was restricted to a single lane while multiple agencies worked to assess and attend to the driver of the vehicle. The driver was the only person involved in the accident and was airlifted to South Alabama’s level one trauma center.
Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan tells News 25 that it took a lot of teamwork to tackle such a difficult response effort. “We had a pretty tough extrication, the driver of the vehicle was down in the bottom of the vehicle and it took us a while to be able to extricate, cut the vehicle apart to get her. We had a lot of cooperation between multiple agencies.”
The driver’s specific injuries are unknown at this time.
