‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign launches today

Law enforcement agencies across the Coast are joining a nationwide drive to keep drivers safe over the holidays.

The national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign kicks off today and will run through Christmas and New Years.

The campaign is an effort to reduce the number of accidents caused by impaired driving.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, there were 209 drunk-driving related deaths during the campaign period in 2020.

The NTSB also reported 851 drunk-driving related crashes in December 2020 and 11,654 people killed in alcohol related crashes that year.
