Drilled-out grenade causes Gulfport Goodwill to evacuate

A grenade being used as a paper weight caused the Goodwill in Gulfport to be evacuated.

According to Gulfport Fire Department’s Deputy Chief of Administration J. Thomas McCorkle, the grenade was found in a donation box.

The Goodwill called the Gulfport Police and evacuated around 11:40 AM.

The Gulfport Police inspected the grenade and saw it was drilled out in the bottom.

The Goodwill was evacuated for 20 minutes before the situation was deemed safe.
