Driftwood Motel now open in Bay St. Louis

One motel in Bay St. Louis with a troubled history is receiving new life.

The Driftwood Motel Property was declared a nuisance last year. Now, it’s been transformed into a newly renovated vacation destination.

The motel is now styled in 60s and 70s décor while keeping with the coastal vibes of Bay St. Louis. The new design also invokes the style of a motor court from that time period.

SVN Urban Properties Manager Eugene Schmitt gives us a run through of the renovation process. “It has probably been about 8 months ago identifying the property as something that really needed to be renovated in the community. We embarked on a 6-month construction timeline to revitalize and revamp the property. At the end of the day, I want you to enjoy the town and have a nice comfortable, clean place to lay your head in the evening.”
