Driftwood Art Gallery at Pascagoula River Audubon Center
Earlier this evening, the Pascagoula River Audubon Center held an artist reception and gallery opening for Pascagoula artist Pete Floyd.
As a seventh generation commercial fisherman, Floyd draws inspiration from always being on the water. Floyd says he has always been attracted specifically to driftwood.
Although he has been creating pieces of artwork for 25 years, Floyd still doesn’t consider himself an artist.
However, Floyd says being able to share his art at galleries like the Audubon Center means a lot to him. “That’s the most rewarding part of it. I mean when somebody comes in and looks at one of my pieces and smiles that is better than a thousand dollars, especially little kids come in and smile, I mean that’s just wonderful.”
You can shop Floyd’s artwork online on the Pascagoula River Audubon Center website.
