Drew Brees leads NFL with 80.6% completion percentage

Last year, Drew Brees was the most accurate version of himself, reclaiming the NFL record for completion percentage at a clip of 72. Yet, somehow, the 39-year-old ageless wonder got even better.

Through three games this season, this league’s all-time leader for completions is racking them up at a record pace of 80.6 percent. That’s no fluke with Brees already owning three out of the four most accurate seasons in NFL history.

But Sunday’s week four matchup at the New York Giants presents an intriguing challenge against a defense that ranks third in the league in completion percentage at less than 60 percent. “Listen, it’s not even. I mean I think there’s a high expectation level with our offense. And certainly my mindset when I take the field within the framework at the offense, at the end of the day you want to make great decisions, right? And that’s both in the run game and in the pass game. Obviously, we have a lot of responsibility as a quarterback. But it’s identifying matchups and making sure that you get positive plays, and listen, I’m just going to keep doing my job and keep trying to make great decisions.”

The Saints and Giants will kick things off from MetLife Stadium at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday on CBS.
