Dr. Terry Millette opens new clinic in Pascagoula

Many people were upset after Singing River Health System cut ties with longtime neurologist Dr. Terry Millette last November. Today, those same people showed relief as he opened new private practices in Pascagoula and Lucedale.
News 25 sat down with Dr. Millette at his Pascagoula location today and spoke with some of his patients after the grand opening of the new clinic this morning.
Jackie Bleau was one of several patients who worried their health and lives were on the line after the abrupt firing of long-time Pascagoula Dr. Terry Millette from Singing River Health System. “We were furious. We were attending all these meetings trying to get somebody to help us.”
Now, more than seven months later, Dr. Millette is back at work, opening the doors to the new clinic he now shares with Digestive Health and Dr.Vernon Doster. It’s located on Hospital Road, not far from the hospital. “We’re moving on. I think, it’s not really helpful to go that route. It doesn’t do any good and we just really want to get back to work and take care of our patients,” said Dr. Millette.
Singing River Health System released an official statement saying: “While no longer employed by Singing River Health System, Dr. Millette is free to practice anywhere he chooses as a licensed physician in the state of Mississippi. As such, he retains medical staff privileges at our health system that allow him to refer neurology patients to us for care, the only exception being for multiple sclerosis or other related conditions.”
Dr. Millette tells News 25 it’s rewarding to finally see his patients again, making up for lost time will be his first order of business. “They did not have medical follow up and that’s dangerous, especially for some of these people, especially our MS patients who can get sick very quickly. It’s been heavy on my mind as to how they’re doing.”
As for his patients, they say they’re relieved they can continue to see the doctor they’ve trusted for years. “Oh, I’m so excited. Dr. Millette is a wonderful doctor. He loves each and every one of his patients. He takes the time to listen to us. He does not rush us out. He does not judge us,” said Bleau.
