Dr. Christopher Williams Sr. appointed superintendent of Moss Point School District

The Moss Point School District has a new superintendent.
The school board announced Thursday that Dr. Christopher Williams Sr. will be the next superintendent of schools.
Dr. Williams is a veteran educator with over 20 years of experience on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
“We are proud to welcome Dr. Williams as the next superintendent of Moss Point School District,” said Board President Antoinette Morris. “With 12 years of leadership experience in Ocean Springs—one of the state’s most successful districts—he brings a wealth of knowledge, innovation, and proven success. Having served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent, Dr. Williams understands every level of the educational journey. His record in a consistently top-ranked district speaks to his commitment to excellence.”
Dr. Williams shared his enthusiasm for joining the district and community: “I am deeply honored and incredibly excited to join Moss Point School District as its next superintendent. This is more than a position – it is a calling, a commitment, and a passion to serve the students, educators, families, and community members who make this district so special. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Board of Trustees for entrusting me with the privilege of leading our Tiger Nation. Your confidence in my leadership is truly humbling, and I am committed to working collaboratively to uphold the values and vision which make this district great.”
Dr. Williams will officially assume the position on July 1st, 2025 following the retirement of current superintendent Dr. Oswago Harper.
