Dozens of South Mississippi wrestlers reach podium at Individual State Wrestling Tournament
JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV) — Dozens of South Mississippi student-athletes reached the podium at the 2026 MissHSAA Boys and Girls Individual State Wrestling Tournament over the weekend.
Vancleave won the State Championship as a team on the boys side, while Picayune placed third and Ocean Springs placed fourth. On the girls side, Ocean Springs earned the title, with St. Martin and Vancleave placing third and fifth, respectively.
Here’s a look at which Coast athletes reached the podium in each weight class. Wrestlers must place in the top eight to achieve this feat.
