Downtown for the Holidays Prep Work
Christmas is just around the corner and many cities along the Coast are lighting up their streets and throwing down a red carpet for Santa’s upcoming arrival.
Pascagoula’s 15th annual Downtown for the Holidays kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. Get into the Christmas spirit with a parade, pictures with the big jolly man himself, and chances for kids to take pictures with characters from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
City officials say this event is the perfect kickoff for the holiday season. Main Street Director Rebecca Davis said, “I think this little cold front coming through is going to help and the decorations, it gets you in the spirit. It makes you feel good and makes you want to do something for somebody else and that’s what it’s all about. I think, right now especially, we need to get out there and help our local small businesses and come have fun while we’re doing it.”
Santa Claus is coming to town, Pascagoula that is, at 5 p.m. this Friday. The parade begins at 7:30 and wraps up around 9.
