Downstage Productions Easter basket giveaway

The Downstage Productions Theatre gave out two hundred Easter baskets to kids in need.

Fifty baskets went to a local shelter while the rest went into the community. The theatre advertised the giveaway, requesting those who needed Easter baskets to make reservations for the number of children who would receive them for each family.

Tracy Perry with Downstage Productions Theatre Board of Directors focused on giving back to the community so everyone could have a great Easter. “It means the world. We want to be more than just a community theater. We want to embody the whole community. Even the ones who need at holidays and that kind of thing, so for us to be able to do this and see people walk up that are truly are in need.  It means a lot to us knowing that we are giving back to where we live and what we love.”

Each basket had a butterfly on it in memory of Sophia Myers.
