Downed tree on Robinson Road in Gulfport causes fire

At 1:30 p.m. today several large limbs of a tree on Robinson Road fell, hitting power lines, knocking down poles and setting a grass fire near a gas meter.

The limbs, power lines and poles across the roadway closed Robinson Rd. for about three hours while Coast Electric and Harrison County Road Dept. crews responded and replaced the poles, power lines and removed the limbs.

Gulfport Fire and Harrison County Fire Rescue responded for the grass fire and to support the others working the scene.
