Doughnuts with a Deputy
Dozens of Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies stopped by the Loves and McDonald’s off Interstate 10 by exit 28 this morning, but it was all for a good cause.
They hosted the ‘Doughnut with a Deputy’ event. Deputies sat in the McDonald’s for three and a half hours and spoke with residents and enjoyed free coffee and doughnuts.
The purpose of the event is to give people a chance to talk with a deputy in a relaxed, comfortable environment. “It has been going really well. There have been a lot of people coming in who just want to come in and take pictures and come and just chat. It’s a really good community building event. I have had people walk in and shake hands with every single police officer in here.”
