Dombrowski Announces he Will Run for County Supervisor

Tuesday’s city council meeting in Gulfport started off the same as any other day, but this one had a surprise announcement. With all city councilmen and women and the Mayor in attendance, Tuesday’s meeting seemed the same as any other.

Residents spoke their minds about everything from sheltering the homeless during cold nights to come, to improvements to the port and taxi regulations, but all the while, Richard Dombrowski, councilman of Ward 2, was holding in some big news. He’s decided to run for County Supervisor of District 2. He has served the city for many years, and believes he can help the Board of Supervisors stay on the right track.

Dombrowski says, "I think it’s all about transparency is the main reason for running for this office. You have to have transparency in government, no closed door meetings. It should be an open forum so the public knows what’s going on."

If elected, one of Dombrowski’s first acts as supervisor will be to jump start development of the I-10 corridor and Canal Road.
