Dog park coming to Gulfport

If you have a dog, they will soon have a new area to run around and play in Gulfport.
The new park, which will include a dog park, will be located at the corner of 34th Street and 8th Avenue. Today, the Gulfport City Council announced the dog park will be ready in the next three to four weeks.
The council also approved the expansion of the go cup law. The law, which went into effect July 1st, 2016, allows people to carry alcohol in a to-go cup along Highway 90 between the Island View Casino and Shaggy’s Restaurant and the downtown area up Highway 49 to the railroad tracks.
The new expansion adds parts of Island View Casino that were initially left out.
