Disabled American Veterans hold Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony in Gulfport
Over the weekend, the Gulfport chapter of Disabled American Veterans held an early Memorial Day ceremony as a way to honor those no longer with us.
Saturday’s ceremony was attended by Gulfport city leaders and many veterans from South Mississippi.
Attendees paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and also the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Robert Veal chapter of the DAV. DAV Junior Vice Commander Vernon Mangum said, “But as you look around the country as the ones that get the ultimate sacrifices, the heroes as well as the she-roes, around our great nation. That have served not only in Mississippi again, but around the great USA. This is the largest chapter in the state of Mississippi. It has over 1,100 members. So, we have a lot of different events that are going on and we are looking to partner with different organizations along the Coast as well.”
