Direct flights from GPT to Orlando International officially begin

Breeze Airways Flight 849 was the first of its kind, as it was the first ever direct flight from Gulfport Biloxi International Airport to Orlando International Airport.  For the dozens of passengers waiting for the first takeoff on Thursday evening,  such as Patrick McIntosh, it was a very welcome addition to GPT.

“It’s a big convenience rather than having to go through Atlanta to get through Orlando with a five hour wait and so forth. It’s a big convenience for a lot of folks that don’t have that time gap to wait.”

And where’s the first stop that some of these travelers are making in Orlando? Well you might have guessed it. Disney World.

“It’s very exciting. Gulfport is a lot closer to my home, we have flew out of New Orleans, we flew out of Jackson, and having a direct flight out of Gulfport is pretty convenient for us. We’re flying to Disney World . We go every year in February so we’re very excited to hit this plane ride up.”

Nonstop flights between GPT and Orlando International will now be available Thursdays and Sundays through Breeze Airways.
