D’Iberville teen who drowned in creek is identified.

A 13-year-old D’Iberville Middle School student who died after drowning in a creek near Highway 15 has been identified.

The Harrison County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the teen is Channon Wilson, who died of accidental drowning.

D’Iberville Police Chief Shannon Nobles said Wilson and friends were wading in a creek in an area of Old Highway 15 and Dodson Road in Tuxachanie Creek when the other teens lost sight of the victim, who did not surface.

Residents nearby helped search for Wilson but were unable to find him. D’Iberville Police and Fire personnel arrived and were able to find Wilson and tried to revive him. He was taken to Merit Health Biloxi by AMR. He was later pronounced dead by hospital staff.
