D’Iberville sending hurricane relief to Florida

The D’Iberville Fire Department heading to the City of Madison, Florida today to assist with hurricane relief.

Madison has been affected by three hurricanes in the last year. 1,300 meals will be served to citizens, donation supplies are also being given out.

The City of D’Iberville remembers the outpouring of kindness in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and is always willing to help neighboring communities. D’Iberville City Manager Bobby Weaver said, “We have, for some time, been working on collections and figuring out a way we can provide some support for some of the storm victims that associate with Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. About two weeks ago, we sent a crew down to the city of Madison, FL. We had a cargo trailer full of supplies and people that was receiving it said it was the largest amount of supplies they have received thus far and speaking to them it was determined there was still additional needs. So, as we continued to collect supplies, we also received donations from the Scarlet Pearl as far as providing all of the food for it and event to go down as an outreach effort. So, with the support of the Scarlet Pearl Casino, Bible Way Baptist Church, Neil Schaffer Engineering, Center Point Entergy has provided bottles of water and a program that we got D’Iberville Youth Leadership Council that high school students from D’Iberville High School and St. Patrick High School did a food collection. So, we are bringing all of that down there to provide some much-needed relief and bring some good spirit and good intention from the City of D’Iberville.”

This was a one-day trip from D’Iberville to Madison.
