D’Iberville Middle School celebrates Police Week
This morning, D’Iberville Middle School students invited their school resource officer to the library to celebrate him for National Police Week.
Principal Matthew Elias gave kind remarks on how much the school and students appreciate all the officers who make the school a safe space.
Officer Chad Seymour was greeted with applause, cards, and lots of gift cards. Growing up in D’Iberville schools, Seymour is very passionate about his job. He says his favorite part is having relationships with the students. “For us to be able to build a good relationship with the kids and to let them know that we’re here for them. We want to be here for them every day and it makes my day to see them come by in the hallways, high fives and shake hands, and just want to talk to tell us how their days going.”
D’Iberville Middle School Principal Matthew Elias said, “Our SRO’s do a great job. The relationships that are built on a daily basis is very humbling to see and I really am proud to be a part of it, and I personally wish each and every law enforcement officer a special week… really throughout the year they deserve our thanks.”
