D’Iberville Deputy Chief Walter Keck passes away

Today, D’Iberville Chief of Police Wayne Payne announced the passing of Deputy Chief Walter Keck.

Deputy Chief Keck passed away this morning around 1:30 at Ocean Springs Medical Center after losing a long struggle with medical issues.

Deputy Chief Keck, also lovingly known as Mr. D’Iberville and Barney Fife, retired from the U.S. Air Force and began his law enforcement career with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

Walter was assigned to the City of D’Iberville prior to the city forming its own police department in 2008 where he remained since. He served the citizens of D’Iberville for over 28 years.
