D’iberville BBQ Throwdown and Festival

Get your grills and your taste buds ready for the 10th annual D’iberville Barbecue Throwdown and Festival this weekend at the D’iberville Civic Center.
From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., the aroma of barbecue chicken, ribs, and brisket will fill the area. Teams will cook-off in hopes of winning more than $5,000 in cash and prizes.
Organizers tell News 25 the competition is fierce as it grows every year. This year, a youth barbecue cook-off has been added but there is plenty to go around for the whole family. Gateway Group member Chelsea Speed said, “It’s a competition so we do have judges. They’re going to be judging that but we have several barbecue vendors that you can get your own barbecue from but there is a pulled pork taste tent and you can sign up and do that for a small fee, just come taste test. It’s a popular vote that wins that and you can even win money doing that too.”
There will also be live entertainment all day, arts and crafts, face painting, children’s activities and games. Admission is free.
