D’Iberville baseball trio heading to the next level

The D’Iberville baseball program is sending three of its top seniors to the next level.

This afternoon, Nicholas Hamby and Aiden Seymour both signed with Mississippi Gulf Coast and Colby Wilson put pen to paper with rival Pearl River.

Wilson actually led the Warriors with a .462 batting average as a junior, also pacing the team in hits, RBI, doubles, and tied with Seymour with three home runs.

The D’Iberville tripod has been playing baseball together for a long time so what’s two more years in the same league. Wilson said, “Well, Pearl River, I mean you saw last year they won the World Series, so that was a big thing. Nick and Aiden, the guys I signed with, they’ve been my best friends – I’ve known Aiden since preschool and Nick since fifth grade – so being able to do it with two of my best friends just makes it even better.”

Hamby said, “It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be a dog fight hopefully. We’re bringing the ‘A’ game.”

Seymour said, “Yeah, I know we’ve grown up together, but on the field it’s game time. Something we’ve kind of always dreamed of and hoped to achieve, so to be able to finally sign those papers, it feels good.”

Could be more DHS baseball signees still to come with a whopping 16 seniors on the roster.
