D’Iberville Baseball Signing Day: Logan Forsythe signs with MSU, Blake Gollott signs with PRCC
Next stop, the other half of the Battle of the Back Bay, D’Iberville High School where two seniors are heading to the next level on the diamond.
Logan Forsythe signed with Mississippi State and then Blake Gollott put pen to paper with Pearl River Community College. Forsythe led the Warriors at the dish with team highs in batting average, runs, hits, and doubles.
Gollott just as dominant on the mound, leading DHS in innings pitched, wins, and strikeouts to go along with a sparkling 1.55 ERA.
Even though Forsythe didn’t pitch last year, that’s what he’s going to be doing for the reigning National Champion OmaDawgs, who he has been committed to since his freshmen year. “I mean it’s pretty awesome. I’ve been waiting on it for so long it feels like, and then the past two days it’s just been jittery just waiting to do this and then I can’t wait to be up there. I didn’t have the chance to go up to Omaha, but I definitely watched all the games and it was pretty crazy watching them make it all the way.”
Gollott said, “I am playing with the best of the best. That’s what I like about it because when I went to watch them play, they put up 20 against another team, and I was like this is the school.”
Forsythe says he picked MSU over Florida and can touch 94 with his fastball complimented by a curveball and change-up.
Gollott runs his fastball up to 89 and features the same pitch mix plus the occasional knuckle ball.
D’Iberville has two more signing on Tuesday.
