D’Iberville Archery’s Julia Pryor signs with William Carey
Former News 25 Student Athlete of the Week Julia Pryor put pen to paper with William Carey in Hattiesburg for archery.
What a week it has been for the senior sharp shooter, just a couple days removed from winning the Class III state championship for the second year in a row.
She’s also the top female shooter in Mississippi for the second year in a row, having excelled with a bow and arrow ever since she took aim at the target for the first time about four years ago. “Well, last year I realized that you could do archery in college, so I was like, wow, I really enjoy doing it during high school so it would be awesome to do it in college too. Definitely the back-to-back top female shooter, state champion, undefeated, that’s really awesome.”
Pryor fired off a team-high 288 during D’Iberville’s state championship victory and says she has interest in William Carey’s new forensic science major.
