Diamondhead Senior Village celebrates with Super Bowl pre-party

The Diamondhead Senior Village, a community gathering that meets twice a week, kicked off their Super Bowl weekend with a pre-party.

The village has different activities for seniors at city hall on Tuesdays and Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Today, members were able to play different games provided by Solace Hospice Care that were football related, along with tailgate-themed food.

The Diamondhead Senior Village started off with only 60 seniors who signed up. Since then, it has grown to include 129 new members. Village member June Duffour said, “I’ve lived in Diamondhead for 38 years and have never met so many people in this one month. It’s beautiful what our mayor has done for us. Just meeting different people and socializing, it makes your day.”
